OUTBOUND excursions take youth out of the city limits and introduces them to a variety of interactive activities in the great outdoors. Through various nature-based experiences, youth are introduced to the endless masterpieces our Creator God has made and blessed us with and in this environment, youth learn life skills like leadership, communication and team work.
What a powerful way to learn about yourself and who you are being called to be when you have been removed from the pressures and noise of the technology saturated world created by humans.
Canoe Day Camp – July 8 – 12, 2019, 9am-4pm (Fri 8am-6:30pm)
Summer and outdoor adventures are an awesome combination. Taking on some of London and area’s rivers and lakes will be our focus for this week as we canoe at a different source of water each day.
During this week, students will learn paddling techniques for canoeing in mild and rapid currents as well as boat safety. Teamwork is developed during this week as youth learn to work with their partner to overcome challenges and build endurance to accomplish each day’s journey. Since many of these areas also have local beaches, we will be spending some time in the water too. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to spend a whole week on the water and enjoying the amazing outdoors!
Land & Lake Day Camp – July 22-26, 2019 9am-4pm (Fri 8am-6:30pm)
Nature explorations continue during this week of hiking and swimming at different locations throughout South Western Ontario. Youth will spend the mornings hiking through varying degrees of terrain, learning about forest safety and preparedness before transitioning to a water source for an afternoon of swimming. Communication will be a key component this week as it is a necessity for our group to navigate successfully through any number of trails. As is becoming a tradition on these outings, a friendly stop at a local ice cream shop on the way home is a fantastic way to finish of each day!
Girls Only Over Night Campout – August 12-16, 2019 (Mon 9am -Fri 6:30pm)
That’s right!! We are hitting the open road with a destination of up north camp country. There will be no version of glamping this week, where young ladies will be learning how to properly set up camp – including the tents we will be sleeping in, light a fire in various weather conditions and prepare meals. Everyone will learn the importance of being reliable and compassionate with their fellow camper as we adjust to living with no creature comforts like hydro or internet. It will not all be work though as we will spend time throughout the week canoeing, hiking, fishing, swimming and exploring. What memories await!
